Small Groups & Classes

At Zionsville UMC, we believe in the power of small groups and classes. These groups read and study together, serve together, play together, and uphold one another in prayer. There are ongoing groups that have been meeting for years as well as newly formed groups that have only recently joined together. There are groups of people covering all different ages and stages of life.

All groups have a host(s) who help organize the group and facilitate conversation. Groups meet in people’s homes, at church, around the city, or at restaurants.  They may have specific demographics, such as seniors, couples, young adults, empty nesters, etc.  Although most groups are open to all. 

We intentionally start new groups twice per year but you can join a group at any time of the year.

Christianity and World Religions
Adam Hamilton’s Christianity and World Religions deepens our ability to love and relate to our neighbors by better understanding what other religions believe and strengthening our own faith along the way.  Sessions will include video excerpts followed by group discussion.  Any required materials will be provided.

MomCo
MomCo is a non-profit organization that encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church. MomCo — formerly known as MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)—was founded in 1973 when seven women in Colorado invited moms to meet regularly to grow together as women, parents, and leaders, with the ultimate goal of reaching women with the hope of Jesus. Today, the small gathering they called MOPS now extends to 101+ countries, 25 languages, 72,000+ meetings a year and influences over a million moms annually.

Zionsville UMC will host a GriefShare group beginning March 19 - June 11 (weekly) from 6:30-8:00pm here at the church. GriefShare is a support group program that offers a safe and confidential environment for individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness and ZUMC are teaming up to provide a monthly support group at the church. Please use Entrance Door #2. This group meets every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. Facilitators: Anne Foster, Marilynn Berry-Stamm RN, BSW. The NAMI Parent Support Group is a free, confidential, and safe group for parents, caregivers, and guardians of minor children living with behavioral difficulties and mental health challenges.
