Small Groups & Classes

At Zionsville UMC, we believe in the power of small groups and classes. These groups read and study together, serve together, play together, and uphold one another in prayer. There are ongoing groups that have been meeting for years as well as newly formed groups that have only recently joined together. There are groups of people covering all different ages and stages of life.

All groups have a host(s) who help organize the group and facilitate conversation. Groups meet in people’s homes, at church, around the city, or at restaurants.  They may have specific demographics, such as seniors, couples, young adults, empty nesters, etc.  Although most groups are open to all. 

We intentionally start new groups twice per year but you can join a group at any time of the year.

MomCo
MomCo is a non-profit organization that encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church. MomCo — formerly known as MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)—was founded in 1973 when seven women in Colorado invited moms to meet regularly to grow together as women, parents, and leaders, with the ultimate goal of reaching women with the hope of Jesus. Today, the small gathering they called MOPS now extends to 101+ countries, 25 languages, 72,000+ meetings a year and influences over a million moms annually.

The first study will focus on the “Story of Israel” from the time of Joshua to the post-exilic period. We will start on January 13 and continue until February 24. In addition to class attendance, participants will watch a daily video and daily read a short passage of scripture (usually a single chapter).

The second study will focus on the “Prophets, Poets, and Wisdom Literature” of the Old Testament. We’ll continue on Tuesday evenings via Zoom (same time frame). This class will start on March 3 and continue until April 14. Same level of weekly homework.
